Deformation behavior of aluminum alloy tubes during wire-explosion impact forming

چکیده

Abstract Wire-explosion impact forming (WEIF) is a process based on coupled effect of gaseous, liquid, and solid media, the experimental work alone not sufficient to properly show this complex process. To understand plastic deformation behavior workpiece under action shockwave load, WEIF AA5052 tubes were simulated in LS-DYNA by considering fluid/structure interactions. Then, stress, displacement, velocity, thickness during quantitatively analyzed, generation propagation shock waves demonstrated. Finally, numerical simulation results effectively verified results.

Surface Roughening Behavior of 6063 Aluminum Alloy during Bulging by Spun Tubes

Severe surface roughening during the hydroforming of aluminum alloy parts can produce surface defects that severely restrict their application in the automobile and aerospace industry. To understand the relation between strain, grain size and surface roughness under biaxial stress conditions, hydro-bulging tests of aluminum alloy tubes were carried out, and the tubes with different grain sizes ...

Flexible Forming of Thin Aluminum Alloy Sheets

Flexible forming is a sheet metal forming process with the application of soft material tooling. In this study, flexible (silicone rubber, SR, and styrene butadiene rubber, SBR) and semi-rigid (polyamide 66, PA) polymeric materials were adopted to make several upper dies which were used in combination with aluminium lower dies. Stamping operations were performed on a thin aluminium alloy sheet ...

Rheological behavior of a commercial AA5182 aluminum alloy during solidification

During casting of aluminum alloys, the partially solidified material is submitted to thermally induced strains that can lead to severe casting defects, such as hot tearing. In this work, carried out in the frame of the European project VIR[CAST], the rheological behavior of a partially solidified AA5182 aluminum alloy has been investigated in order to provide constitutive equations to predict h...

The Effects of Forming Parameters on the Single Point Incremental Forming of 1050 Aluminum Alloy Sheet

The single point incremental forming (SPIF) is one of the dieless forming processes which is widely used in the sheet metal forming. The correct selection of the SPIF parameters influences the formability and quality of the product. In the present study, the Gurson-Tvergaard Needleman (GTN) damage model was used for the fracture prediction in the numerical simulation of the SPIF process of alum...

Low temperature deformation behavior of an electromagnetically bulged 5052 aluminum alloy

The fundamental understanding of the deformation behavior of electromagnetically formed metallic components under extreme conditions is important. Here, the effect of low temperature on the deformation behavior of an electromagnetically-bulged 5052 aluminum alloy was investigated through uniaxial tension. We found that the Portevin-Le Chatelier Effect, designated by the serrated characteristic ...
